Papis leaves you standing in the center of Sunshire as you are completely dumbfounded. You, a redeemed slave, just came face to face with Maloris, the thought deceased God of Chaos and Destruction. Though he seemed somewhat relatable and approachable, you could tell that he was not someone to be trifled with. While standing still, you turn to see the celebration, now somewhat muted, beginning in the center of the city. The mayor is a bit reserved, though trying to put on a good appearance. His massive celebration is a bit muted, as most of the citizens are still enamored with the ancient stockade disappearing. Before you can approach though, you are stopped by a familiar face.
“I wouldn’t test those waters,” says Menassah, the young healer from earlier in your travels. “Especially with what’s on the horizon. It might be quite important to keep your wits about you.”
She pauses for a brief moment while motioning for you to follow her. You walk along the street toward the harbor with Menassah in her white robes leading the way. “I’ve been instructed by Aertis to summon all available forces to Werz,” she explains while pointing to a small boat. “The forces of Loccaris are on our doorsteps and the defense of the city must be fortified. However, the lot of you have a different mission. The shipyard has been overtaken by some rebellious pirates in what appears to be a mutiny. We think they’re trying to seize control upon the current upheaval. Aertis feels that this is a task best suited for those with your skill set.”
You smirk while looking at Menassah and shaking your head. “Look, I know this is grunt work, but this is a great place to start. Quell the uprising and then join us in the battle. Aertis won’t be able to turn down a Shard, sword, and an able shield when our need is great.” Menassah smiles at you and points for the boat, which is already prepared and ready for launch. “Make haste and head down the river. Make sure you get some rest, as you’ll be in Werz by the time the sun comes out.”
You look at the old boat as the two moons reflect off the water. You step forward and onto its wooden deck with Menassah looking over at you and smiling. “Hey, the forces of Loccaris will be descending upon Werz tomorrow. Keep your wits about you and take care of those pirates. We’re going to need you.”
You nod as the captain pushes the boat away from the dock. “Good luck!” shouts Menassah. “I look forward to fighting alongside you tomorrow!”
