Shards are the lifeblood of By Gods and Kings, giving players access to unique abilities and powerful spells. The shards, part of a much longer stone, contain the knowledge of the Gods who created Dun-I. Equipping more than 3 shards at a single time will be far too much knowledge for a mortal to sustain at a single time, and will cause the user to go insane. Also, each Shard is unique, only one can exist in the game at a time.

Back-Alley Strike (Straight) Deal physical damage to a single target for the total amount of the cards plus physical bonus. If the Shard of Cunning, the Shard of Illusions, or the Shard of Deception is equipped, add your SPD to the overall damage.
Thievery (3 of a Kind) Deal physical damage to a single target for the total amount of the cards plus physical bonus. Valorous Defender (3 of a Kind) Sacrifice HP upon commencing this move. Deal damage to all enemies for the total amount of the cards plus physical bonus plus the amount of hit points sacrificed. All enemies attack you for the remainder of the encounter. Skip your next turn.

Shard of Energy

The Shard of Energy utilizes Magical Abilities for its offense. The Shard gets its power from the God of Intellect, Derillius. The abilities contained within the Shard were at one time, common place among the Archivists and followers of Derillius. They were not revered as powerful on their own, but were a testament to the abilities and raw power of the caster.
